India’s Northeast is icredible in each and every aspect, be it, wildlife or greenery or culture or something else and Yamin Hazarika is such a talent from this state. She is the first lady cop of Assam who is a single mom and a mother of 2 kids.
This mother’s day she is a real inspiration for not only thousand’s but for millions. She was born in the late 1950s. After finishing her schooling in Guwahati and Shillong, she completed her graduation from IP College in New Delhi.
Her first posting with the Delhi Police was as the Assistant Commissioner of Police in Chanakyapuri, Delhi. Through the course of her illustrious career, she would also go onto serve as Deputy Commissioner of Police in the Crimes Against Women division.
Assam’s first woman police officer was a trailblazer, who not only inspired other women to stamp their authority in traditionally male-dominated professions like the police but also had the conviction to live life on her own. Besides fulfilling her responsibilities as a senior police officer with the Delhi Police for nearly two decades, she also raised two children—Huma and Vikram—as a single parent, until her untimely death on July 24, 1999, due to cancer.
It’s tragic that her life was cut short at age 43, but what a life it was. We really salute her, along with her spirit, the way she upbringed her son and daughter. She is really a inspiration for millions and the world too.
